Ice Romania

Our flight to Romania wasn’t too late from London, but we lost 2hrs on the way there so we didn’t arrive until about 2am! Couldn’t see much when we got to our Airbnb, but the next morning we got to see the really cute street!

After spending the night in Sibiu, we started our drive to Lake Balea- about 1.5hrs away! To get to the chalet, you have to park at a cable car station and take the cable car up the mountain because the road is closed in the winter from all the snow!

Cable car!

And here we are! This picture accurately shows basically everything on the mountain.

We weren’t really sure what to do so we decided to just run around in the snow a bit and found the prettiest pupper to play with!

It was a bit windy, but otherwise it wasn’t too cold to run around in the snow!

After about an hour, we decided to get some food and wine in the one restuarant…. then ended up staying there until we decided to go to bed around 11pm πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ lit up in the chalet!

At 11pm, we decided to make our way into our igloo for the night!! We walked in and it turned out there was a little bar area in the igloo before the rooms! There was even a stereo we could plug our phone into and turn on music! Naturally we played “Ice Ice Baby”

Wasn’t the most comfy bed in the world and got a bit cold since all we had were sleeping bags, but it was still a cool experience!

Originally, we were supposed to spend all day up at Lake Balea the next day, but there didn’t seem to be actual organized activities so we just decided to go to this random house thing before driving back to Sibiu.

Tbh I don’t know why this random house even exists, but it was cool I guess!

After walking around the house thing, we headed back to Sibiu and relaxed for a bit before walking to dinner.

Turns out it was the last few days of the Christmas market in the big square.

We went to like the oldest restaurant in Sibiu for dinner and walked around a bit before heading back to the Airbnb for the night!

Walked across the bridge of lies!

For our final day, we stayed around Sibiu. We started the morning by going to the Astra Museum, which is an open air museum that just has a bunch of little villages from “back in the day.”

Met another dog too. She followed us around while we walked.

We walked around for about an hour before we had to go drop the car off. Then we spent the rest of the day exploring Sibiu!

To be honest, there’s not much going on in Sibiu besides some random tower…. so we climbed up it. Pretty views at least!

Tom pretty excited about getting killed

Tom ended up buying the game “Dos” which is kinda like “Uno” except really nothing like Uno. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed the game except for that I won basically every time πŸ˜‚

And before long it was time, once again, to head back to London!
